These 40cm x 40cm microfiber towels are great to have for any clean up job. They are lint-free terry-type towels, which are made up of hundreds of thousands of split fibers. These allow the cloths to pick up dirt and clean thoroughly without being abrasive.
You can use these towels dry, as a duster, or damp, as a scrubber. When used dry, the positively charged split fibers attract negatively charged dust and dirt – good for dusting off surfaces in the morning. When used dampened, the squeegee-like edges of each microfiber in the cloth scrape up the dirt, dust, and grounds, while the open spaces keep that dirt within the towel until it is washed. The damp method is great for scrubbing down your counters, or the large surfaces of your equipment.
When using a 40cm x 40cm microfiber cleaning towel, it’s usually best to fold it over twice, into an 8” x 8” rectangle. This gives you eight cleaning surfaces (when you refold it) before it needs washing. The best thing about microfiber towels is that they allow you to clean your equipment up without using chemicals; they’re very effective when used just with water.
IMPORTANT: Care and Cleaning
These towels can be washed by washing machine or by hand, but to ensure the long life of your microfiber towels please follow these guidelines:
For Machine Washing:
Wash in warm or hot water with mild detergent. Do not use fabric softener; it will clog the open spaces in the microfiber that do the cleaning rendering the towel or mop useless. Microfiber tends to grab a hold of lint in the wash just like it grabs dirt and dust when you’re using it to clean. With this in mind be careful of what you wash microfiber with. Avoid washing it with anything made of cotton especially terry cloth towels, socks etc. Ideally you should wash microfiber only with other microfiber, but if you need to mix loads, wash it with other non-linting synthetic materials.
For Hand Washing:
Wash in hot water with mild detergent, and use a soft bristled brush if necessary. Rinse thoroughly.
To Dry After Washing:
Air drying microfiber will make it last the longest. Microfiber dries relatively quickly. If you choose to dry your microfiber in a dryer do so on low heat or no heat and only dry with other microfiber products to prevent the mops or towels from picking up lint. Microfiber will grab a hold of any lint given off by other items in your dryer if they are dried with anything else that lints.
